Vallnord is a ski/snowboard resort in the Pyrenees Mountains in Andorra country of Andorra. Andorra country shares its border with Spain and France. Vallnord is very close to the border with Spain at Tor, Pallars. Arinsal is particularly popular with British and Irish tourists, while the Arcalis sector is popular with locals at the weekend.

 Vallnord was considered Andorra’s best ski resort at the 2016 World Ski Awards; this was the third time in the four editions of these prizes that have taken place to date. These awards differentiate the finest international snow and mountain tourism destinations in several categories: best resort, best hotel, best boutique hotel and best chalet.

Vallnord In Andorra:

Vallnord is differentiated from other ski resorts by the fact that its two snow fields are linked together and complement each other, while each resort conserves its own individuality and attractions. As a result, skiers and snowboarders, families and groups of friends can all enjoy the slopes, activities, facilities and quality service at the domain.

Vallnord is specifically well-known for family ski vacations because of its remarkable ski schools and fun sports including snowshoeing, sledding, and snowmobiling, in addition to paintball and laser tag. For the truly adventurous, activities such as speed riding (a mix of skiing and hang-gliding), heli-skiing, and ski-biking are available. In mountain biking, Vallnord was the venue for events during the 2008, 2009 and 2013 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. The 2015 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships were held in Vallnord.

Major cities of Andorra are Ordino, Cnaillo, La Massana, Encamp, Andorra La Vella, Escaldes Engordany and Saint Jullia Deloria. Vallanord has a  Bike Park and it is one of the most famous places. Vallanord conducts international competitions throughout the summer season. All the separate sectors within Vallnord contain green, blue, red and black rated runs as well as restaurants and ski schools.

Vallanord has covers with three major areas like Arinsal, Pal and Ordino-Arcalis. From Year 2004, these three places have Vallanord lift passes offering guests the opportunity for a great variety of skiing and snowboarding across the three. It encompasses the linked sectors of Pal and Arinsal (the sectors were linked by a cable car, opened in 2005, from the top of the Arinsal sector) and the Ordino-Arcalis sector some kilometers away.

Best Time To Visit:

The best time to visit Andorra is between April - October, when  weather is warm and dry. During that time, the temperature is quite warm, and the skies are clear, making this the perfect season for outdoor activities.

Andorra Skiing Transportation:

Travelers will come with their children and family members. If you also want to travel with children and family it is better to know the features and options. Some tour operators allow you to pre-book spaces when you reserve your holiday, otherwise head there first when you arrive in order to book in as places are first come first served.

By Plane:

There are no airports in vallnord. You can travel by plane, landing in one of the nearest international airports, like those of Barcelona, Reus and Toulouse.

By Train:

If you prefer to travel by train, you can also come to Vallnord from the nearest train stations: Lleida (Spain) and Hospitalet-pres-l’Andorre (France).

By Sky Bus:

Vallnord's inter-resort ski bus service (‘Bus Neu’) runs from/to Andorra la Vella (via Caldea) to/from the gondola base station at La Massana; then from La Massana to/from Arcalis (via Ordino).

Local Bus Service:

Local bus services also run between Ordino and Arcalis, Ordino and La Massana, Arinsal and La Massana, and La Massana and Andorra la Vella. Local bus cost very cheap. Timetables are posted on all bus stops and also available from the tourist office branches in the resorts.
