Pamukkale Turkey is one of the beautiful landscapes and a therapeutic heaven on earth, a natural spa that is famous for its natural hot springs, mesmerising white terraces called travertine which are formed due to the carbonates present in the flowing water, famously called as the cotton castles.

Pamukkale Turkey:

Pamukkale can be called a mysterious place as the geology of this place is explained due to the complex hydraulic system. The turquoise pools and white mud are very unique. The water here is extremely rich in minerals. The terraces of the place are composed of travertine, a sedimentary rock that is deposited as the water flows. The main water source which is deep under the earth is heated by volcanic lava. Calcium that gets expelled along the water source gets deposited to the soil which results in the magnificent, beautiful Calci deposits which can be seen all around the place. The multiple terraces with small pools create a picturesque sight. There are nearly 17 hot springs the temperature of which ranges from 35 degrees to 100 degrees. The gushing waters from these springs are transported 320 metres into these terraces. Calcium Carbonate from this water gets deposited as a jelly which later hardens. The water from these springs has many health benefits as it provides cure for asthma, rheumatism, many skin ailments, digestive disorders and chronic nutritional issues.
