Egypt Tour Attractions - Egypt is one of the popular tourist destinations in the world. Egypt is famous for beautiful monuments including the Giza pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the ancient temples of Luxor. The many royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings stand as a commemoration to all of the Egyptian pharaohs who once ruled the ancient land. Apart from sightseeing, adventurous activities include snorkelling and diving along the Red Sea coast and a trek through Sahara.

1. Pyramids Of Giza:

It is a top tourist attraction is the Egypt. The great pyramid of Giza is also the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the southwestern suburbs of Cairo.  It is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops. The pyramids at Giza were built over the span of three generations – by Khufu, his second reigning son Khafre, and Menkaure. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid in Egypt with its height of 139 meters.

2. Luxor's Karnak Temple:

Karnak Temple is at the northern end of the town of Luxor. It is the largest religious building ever constructed covering about 200 acres. This temple is dedicated to three Gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. The temple of Karnak was known as Ipet-isu or “most select of places” by the Ancient Egyptians. One of most famous structures of Karnak is the Hypostyle Hall spread in 54,000 square feet and featuring 134 columns and is still the largest room of any religious building in the world.

Red sea region is one of the best tourist destinations in Egypt. Especially the underwater glory of coral and fish life makes this one of the world’s most beautiful destinations for diving.  It is an ideal place for relaxing and also well known for its very vibrant nightlife and its extensive shopping opportunities.

4. Valley Of The Kings:

This is one of the most visited attractions in Egypt. It is the burial site of all the kings from Thutmose I to Ramses X for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC. It is located in on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes. The valley contains 63 tombs and chambers. The famous tomb of King Tutankhamen is also located in the Valley of the Kings.

5. Abu Simbel:

Abu Simbel temples, these are the two massive rock temples constructed by Ramses II the Great in the 13th century BC, as everlasting monuments to himself and his queen Nefertari. It is located in Aswan muḥafaẓah (governorate), southern Egypt. It is one of the Egypt’s top tourist attractions. It is the second most recognizable Egyptian icon after the Giza pyramids.

6. Egyptian Museum:

It is another tourist attraction in Egypt. On the ground floor there is a massive collection of coins and papyrus used by the ancient Egyptians. On the first floor there are many artifacts documenting the history of the final two dynasties and also artifacts taken from Valley of Kings. There is also a room which is said to have accommodated 27 mummies earlier but none of the mummies is on display at present.

7. Nile River Cruises:

Cruising the Nile is a popular way of visiting upper Egypt. There is no better way to experience the treasures and delights of Upper Egypt than with a Nile River cruise.
