Best Private Colleges for PGDM/ MBA in Delhi
The growth of Private MBA/PGDM colleges has spurted in the last few years. At one hand, it has improved the number of seats for prospective candidates; on the other hand, it has pushed the competition amongst these colleges.
In Delhi, there are many MBA/PGDM colleges. From a student’s perspective, the scene of management education has only become chaotic as the more number of colleges has led to the problem of choice.
Let’s find out a couple of top PGDM/MBA colleges and where do they stand:
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), The University of Delhi
FMS is by far the most affordable institution in Delhi, offering two year MBA degree program in management. Established in 1954, and located in north campus, it is a reputed institution.
They accept CAT scores for admission, and the course fee is meagre in compared to other PGDM/MBA institutions. But, a limited number of seats, is the biggest drawback of this institution. They only have 200 seats in their full time MBA program. Out of which only 101 seats are open for unreserved category. The rest 99 seats are reserved for different quota.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi
It is a stellar institution based out of New Delhi; IIFT is an autonomous institution, and it’s a deemed university, set up by the government. However, they offer an MBA in international business only. So you don’t have much choice here.
International Management Institute (IMI), Delhi
The institution was established in 1981. It’s a private institution located at Qutub Institutional area. This institution offers all the major disciplines in management and has a linkage with the global schools.
Since they are corporate sponsored, they have an impressive infrastructure as well, and this reflects in the fee as well. Their program fee is 17 lakh rupees.
New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM)
NDIM is a private institution based in New Delhi, NDIM offers PGDM under reasonable fee. They have a good infrastructure with good reputation amongst students. They all take admission to fulfil the dream of becoming a manager in corporate world.
Jagan Institute of Management (JIMS)
Based out in Rohini, New Delhi, JIMS provide PGDM in Management. Their fee is reasonable. Infrastructure of this college is good just the lacking side is its location, which is little outside to Delhi.
AMITY University offers an MBA in management. They have an imposing infrastructure and boast of their educational program. But for me, Amity is known more for its marketing activities than its education. This may not be a good sign for academics. An institution should be known for its education. How many times have you seen an ad from an IIM?
Management Development Institute (MDI)
MDI is an elite b school located in Gurgaon, Haryana. When it comes to the quality of education, or infrastructure or faculty, MDI checks all the boxes right. It is amongst the few top rated schools in the country. The only downside seems to be the high course fee. If you can spend 17-18 Lakhs on tuition fee, you should opt for this school.
EMPI (Entrepreneurship and Management Process International)
EMPI is also one of the many b schools located in Delhi NCR. It has a decent infrastructure and good standing. The faculty is good, and their course curriculum matches industry needs. The course fee is also under 10 Lakh for a PGDM program. However, with many new institutes coming up in the picture in the last decades, the overall value of this institution has gone down.
Asia Pacific Institute of Management
Asia Pacific Institute of management has gained significant traction in the last few years. It is amongst the very few institutes which offer a qualitative PGDM under 10 lakh rupees. They have an excellent infrastructure and close industry linkage. Their placement has been steady, and has maintained quality placement since inception. Their faculty is experienced and have sound industry exposure. This institution is standing tall in the market and has good reputation amongst students.
IMT Ghaziabad is currently the best institution in the Delhi NCR for a PGDM program. There is nothing wrong with the institution. The industry acceptance of their programs is very high. They have the best faculty in Delhi NCR. The infrastructure is decent, and placement is proper as well. But, you will have to shell out more than 15 lakh rupees for two year program. The cost of the program is very high.
These are some of the top institutions that are amongst the top. Some of them are average, while others are good. While selecting an institution, I suggest take concern of Course Fee, Placement, infrastructure, industry linkage, and faculty, into consideration. Based on all these factors, the Asia Pacific institute wins hands down.
