Why does coffee cause regular urination? Coffee is the most popular drink worldwide. Coffee is good for us, as it boosts our state of mind, improves strength of muscles,  prevents serious diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, heart strokes and liver diseases.

Coffee Cause Regular Urination:

Coffee contains caffeine which promotes regular urination. However, there is a flip side to it. If you take coffee in excess quantities, it can be harmful for health causing headaches, sickness, insomnia, restlessness and certain ill-effects on urinary system.  Excess intake of coffee is dangerous for pregnant women as caffeine would reach the fetus. The baby yet to be born is highly sensitive to caffeine. Low consumption of caffeine is better for your health. Coffee is referred to as a diuretic.

Diuretic Properties:

Bladder urgency and weak pelvic muscles can be caused by a variety of simple factors like medication and drinking of alcoholic beverages. Coffee contains caffeine.  Caffeine is considered a diuretic because it stimulates body to produce extra urine. Excessive intake of caffeine may make you dull and your brain cannot recognize immediately when your bladder gets full, often resulting in an overflowing bladder and involuntary urine leakage. Drinking caffeinated beverage increases urinary produce.

Caffeine Effects Urinary System:

Coffee causes regular urination. Caffeine is present in tea, coffee, soda, energy drinks and chocolate. Consumption of excessive caffeine increases the risk of morbid urinary and gall bladder system. If you take more caffeine before sleep it can cause you to wake up several times during the night to urinate. Caffeine increases blood pressure within capillaries in kidneys. This increases more blood filtration resulting in an increase in generation of urine.

Frequent urination can be caused by a urinary infection, pregnancy, diabetes, interstitial cystitis and prostrate problems. If you are urinating more, you may be at the risk of dehydration.  Drinking more water solves the problem to some extent.

1. Urinary Tract Infection:

Urinary Tract infection is the result of frequent bacterial raid when bacteria enter into the bladder through the urethra. Urinary Tract infection occurs more for women because urethra in females is shorter. Bacteria have less distance to travel before they can infect the urinary tract.

2. Diabetes:

Diabetes can cause damage to nerves that are responsible for normal function of urinary system. Risk increases with poor diabetes management, high blood pressure, high cholesterol.  Excess weight increases the risk of urinary inconsistence.

3. Pregnancy:

During pregnancy, increase and speedy blood circulation through body causes frequent urination.

4. Prostrate Problems:

Enlargement of prostrate glands blocks the flow of urine through the urethra. This causes bladder wall to become irritable, causing more frequent urination.

5. Interstitial Cystitis:

This condition causes pain in the bladder and pelvic region. The main symptom is felt by the need to urinate frequently.
