Hanyang University is a private research university in South Korea. Hanyang University’s motto and educational philosophy is Love in Deed and Truth. The main campus is in Seoul, and the second one, the Education Research Industry Cluster at Ansan, or ERICA campus, is located in Ansan, South Korea. Hanyang University was founded as Dong-A Engineering Institute on July 1, 1939 during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

Hanyang University ranking in the world:
In 2015, Hanyang University was ranked 7th in Korea, 30th in Asia and 193rd in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings. QS Also ranked it at 67 by faculty in engineering and technology. It was placed between 351-400 rank in July-2014 in world university ranking, according to the Times Higher Education World University.
62 rank in 2015 The World’s Most Innovative Universities by Reuters.
8th rank in 2015 Joong-Ang Ilbo (JoongAng Daily) university rankings Seoul 3rd, ERICA.

Campuses and departments:
1. Seoul campus
This campus has 15 colleges and 60 departments. Seoul Campus, in particular, is made up of a variety of research centers according to field of academics that promote study and cooperation. Seoul campus departments: Engineering, Human ecology, Nursing, Industrial convergence, International studies, polyscience, Economics and Finanace, Business, Natural science, Social science, Humanities, Medicine, Music etc.
2. Hanyang’s ERICA campus
This is home to 8 colleges and the College of General Studies. A total of 44 majors are offered with 3 interdisciplinary divisions, 27 departments, 4 divisional majors, and 10 major tracks. ERICA campus departments: Engineering sciences, Pharmacy, Science & Technology, Languages & Cultures, Communication and social sciences, Business and Economics, Design, Sports and arts etc.
3. Graduate school:
Main subjects are urban studies, International studies, Global business,School of medicine, School of law, Biomedical science and engineering, business management, innovation, information and clinical nursing, International tourism, journalism and mass communication, technology and innovation management, engineering, public policy and education etc.

Hanyang University has produced 24,544 undergraduates and 10,780 Postgraduates.
Hanyang University Collaboration:
HYU has very big collaborations with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge and Tsinghua University. It has other partnership with 647 partner universities in 68 countries.
Admission process:
Admission process includes, Filling the application form, registering it online and then submission of the required documents.
Session 1: the Admission test
Session 2: the Korean Language Proficiency Test
Foreign applicants residing in Korea can take Admission and Korean tests at designated test venues in Korea.
Foreign applicants residing overseas (excluding China and Japan) will take the Korean Proficiency test in Korea after admission.
After announcement of admission results, the tuition fee is to be and the regular course is to be started.
Those who failed in Korean Proficiency test should apply for the language institute. Regular courses should be attended only after passing the Korean Proficiency test.

Hanyang International Scholarship Program (HISP) grantees are evaluated and selected based on scholastic achievement at their previously attended institution among applicants who are eligible to apply for the HISP.
Qualification: GPA from the previously attended institution must be 80 or higher when converted to a 100 scale
Benefits: 100%, 70% or 50% reduction in tuition
Scholarship period: Eight semesters (undergraduate) or four semesters (postgraduate)
