Surinamese Dollar

Surinamese Dollar:

Since 2004, Surinamese dollar is the official currency of Suriname. Surinamese dollar is divided into 100 cents. The official code of Surinamese dollar is SRD. The Central Bank of Suriname is the central bank of Suriname.  On 1 January 2004, the dollar replaced the Surinames guilder, with one dollar equal to 1,000 guilders.

 The Surinamese dollar is expressed by the symbol SRD in order to distinguish it from the US dollar. The SRD was fixed at 1 USD = 3.25 SRD in January 2011.  The SRD was changed to a fixed rate of USD=4.0 SRD in November 2015. Currently in circulation are the  coins and banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 100 and 250 cents and 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars respectively.
