Fijian dollar currency:

The Fijian dollar is the official currency of Fiji.  In 1867, the Fiji dollar was introduced and was used until 1873. The Fiji dollar was reintroduced in 1969 replacing the Fijian pound at a rate of 1 pound= 2 dollars. The currency symbol is denoted by FJ$. It is divided into 100 cents.

Coins were introduced in 1969 in denominations of 1¢, 2¢, 5¢, 10¢ & 20¢. In 1975, 50¢ coin issued. In 1995, $1 coin was introduced replacing the $1 note. Current circulating coins are 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, $1, $2. The government introduced notes on 15 January 1969 in denominations of 50 cents, $1, $2, $10, and $20. On 3 March 1975, 50¢ note was replaced by a coin. The $1 notes were replaced by coins in 1995. In 1996, the $50 note was introduced. On April 2007, $100 note was introduced.  Denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 are the currently circulating notes.
