Darmstadtium Element:
Darmstadtium is a radioactive synthetic chemical element. It was named after the city of Darmstadt, Germany. Its atomic number is 110 and it is indicated by the symbol Ds. The element does not occur naturally and it is created artificially by the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. In the periodic table it is a d-block transactinide element. It is belongs to the group 10 elements and a member of period 7 in the periodic table. Darmstadtium contains 9 isotopes with known half-lives, which are synthesized in the laboratory. The most stable isotope is 281darmstadtium, with a half-life approximately 10 seconds.
Uses Of Dramstadtium Element:
- Only a few atoms of Darmstadtium have ever been produced and its isotopes have very short half-lives. For this reason, at present it is only used in scientific research.
