CFP Franc Currency:
CFP Franc is the hard cash transacted by French Overseas Collectivities of French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna. CFP Franc is the acronym for the latest renamed currency “Change Franc Pacific” which would mean Pacific Franc Exchange, though the abbreviation was used to denote the same currency in different amplified expressions in the past. However, France uses Euros as its main currency.
Each CFP Franc is subdivided into 100 equal parts called centimes. The coins are issued in the denominations of 1,2,5,10,20, 50 and 100 Francs whereas the paper currency notes 500, 1000, 5000, 10000 Francs CFP. The CFP Franc is issued by the central bank called IEOM which is the Overseas Issuing Institute located in Paris.
